Stayed in the cheapest, $59, best Motel in my mind with the best view. My co-pilot tolerated it but preferred the one in Kamloops. We started early to a clear and cold trip through Manning Park. We stopped at the Manning Park Resort for hot tea and food. From there we headed home via Fort Langley so my co-pilot could again buy pretty things, her Ed Hardy boots that she had waiting for her. They barely fit on the bike but we made them (didn’t’ have a choice I don’t think). No thanks to me we got lost and missed the ferry and almost got pushed off the road by a truck on an overpass…all in a good days riding and we lived to tell the tail. Home by 8 and slept like logs. All in all a great trip and both the bike and riders did excellent. I do believe I fell a bit more in love with her this trip, she helped me live a dream.

Day 4 and home
Stayed in the cheapest, $59, best Motel in my mind with the best view. My co-pilot tolerated it but preferred the one in Kamloops. We started early to a clear and cold trip through Manning Park. Day 2 and Day 3
Woke up to poring rain….geared up and off we went. Didn’t last too long and the bike performed great. Stopped at Hells Gate then carried on and watched some river rafters. The road was nice and curvy but a bit too much traffic. Turned at Cache Creek and worked our way to Kamloops. The wind was terrific, really pushed the bike around but my co-pilot did great. Spend the night in Kamloops at a Hotel right on the river, beautiful view. Started early down the 5a and I have to say if you’ve never driven the 5a….do. From there we turned left at Merrit towards Peachland. Got a bit cold crossing over the mountains. The bike pulled hard at 5200rpm/130kms for a solid hour. I’m really happy with how she’s performing. Soon warmed up along Kelowna Lk. We stopped at a road side market and $110 left with pretty shinny things, got to keep her happy. From there we headed towards Keremoes. An interesting little town in the middle of no where with rocky mountains stretching from the street to the sky. Shared the highway with some mountain goats and sped off towards Headley and stopped in Princeton for the night. And again if you’ve never had the chance to ride the 3…do. I’ve gone as far as Nelson and that highway is specifically made for motorcycles.
Day 1
So we left today for the first road trip on my 79' GS850 since getting up and running well. We caught the 9am from Swartz Bay and by luck met a couple on another 79. From there we rode like banches and made it to "Hope"....ha,ha,ha. Ok not the best milage for the first day, but alas there is a story. So...I realized somewhere around Surrey that I forgot to adjust my shocks for the extra load (my copilot as I like to call her). We pull over at an auto shop and buy a random tool that will fit the hole to adjust the shocks...and WHAMO, busted shock. After a bit of stress my trusty co-pilot asks where the nearest weld shop was, she's so smart, being a guy I wouldn't have thought of that. The welder says "no way that's going to weld", he points us to a bike shop, and hour and.$80 later we are on the road. A big thanks to Dave at Super Sports Motorcycle Works, saved the day. I think in my head lets go the back road through Mission…mistake. The ferry stopped working 3 months earlier and we have to back track to the bridge and wind up all the way back in Pit Meadows, so the road from there to Mission can be described in one word….sucked. Once we were past Mission it was smooth sailing but since this is my co-pilots first trip her rear end was killing her by the end of the day so Hope it is. We walked around town and decided to hit the Fraser tomorrow. We’ll see how far that gets up, lol.

Another road trip, September 17, 2009
Getting ready to head off with my co-pilot. This will be the first road trip together and the first one for my baby as well. Learned lots on the other trip and have done some solid rain riding since, so I'm feeling more confident this time out. It'll be a good learning trip as far as riding with two. The weather's suppose to be decent, and as always the energy is high. Not exactly sure where we are heading but I'm thinking up the Fraser river but really it doesn't matter where we go as long as I have the two of them with me. Life feels so short to me most days, as if there isn't enough time. This is a great way to remedy that.
